FreeRADIUS sql_escape_func function buffer overflow

Description:
FreeRADIUS is vulnerable to a buffer overflow caused by improper bounds checking of user-supplied input in the sql_escape_func() function. A remote attacker could cause a denial of service or possibly use this vulnerability to overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system.

Upgrade to the latest version of FreeRADIUS (1.0.3 or later), available from the FreeRADIUS Web site. See References.

Apply the appropriate fixed packages via the SuSE FTP server or the YaST Online Update, as listed in SuSE Security Summary Report SUSE-SR:2004:002. See References.
