Description:
Peercast is vulnerable to a format string attack. A remote attacker could send a specially-crafted URL request to execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the system to crash.
Platforms Affected:
- Gentoo, Linux
- peercast.org, Peercast 0.1211 and prior
Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of Peercast (0.1212 or later), available from the Peercast Web site. See References.
For Gentoo Linux:
Upgrade to the latest version of PeerCast (0.1212 or later), as listed in Gentoo Linux Security Announcement GLSA 200506-15. See References.
