Microsoft Windows print spooler buffer overflow
| win-print-spooler-bo (21604) |
Description:
Microsoft Windows could allow a remote or local attacker to execute arbitrary code caused by a buffer overflow in the Print Spooler service. A remote attacker could send a specially-crafted message to an affected system to overflow the buffer and cause a denial of service or execute arbitrary code on the system. A local attacker could log onto the system and run a specially-crafted application to execute arbitrary code on the system. The level of risk and whether the overflow can be exploited remotely or locally is dependent on the type of operating system.
