Linux kernel xdr_xcode_array2 function denial of service
| kernel-xdrxcodearray-dos (21805) |
Description:
Linux kernel is vulnerable to a denial of service attack caused by improper bounds checking in the xdr_scode_array2() function when encoding or decoding XDR arrays. By sending specially-crafted XDR data for the nfsacl protocol, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and cause the system to crash.
Consequences:
Denial of Service
Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of Linux Kernel (2.6.13-rc1 or later), available from The Linux Kernel Archives Web page. See References.
