Description:

MasqMail could allow a local attacker to launch a symlink attack caused by a vulnerability in the handling of log files. A local attacker could exploit this vulnerability by creating a symbolic link from a temporary file to other files on the system, which would allow the attacker to create or overwrite arbitrary files on the system with the privileges of the victim.

Upgrade to the latest version of masqmail (0.2.18-3.1 or later), as listed in Mandrake Security Advisory MDKSA-2005:168. See References.
