Description:
Novell NetMail is vulnerable to a buffer overflow caused by a boundary error in the NMAP (Network Messaging Application Protocol) Agent. A local attacker could send a specially-crafted USER command containing a long username to overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system.

Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of Novell NetMail (3.52D or later), available from the Novell NetMail Web site. See References.
