RealNetworks RealPlayer .rm data packet buffer overflow

realplayer-rm-datapacket-bo (23024) The risk level is classified as HighHigh Risk

Description:

RealPlayer is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow that can be triggered by an invalid first data packet in a RealMedia (.rm) file. By sending a malicious .rm file containing a specially-crafted first data packet and persuading the user to open the file, the attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system.
