Squid cachemgr.cgi script can be used to remotely proxy portscans
| http-cgi-cachemgr (2385) |
Description:
The cachemgr.cgi script is not installed by default into a system's Web server CGI directory. However, under some systems (including Red Hat Linux), the cachemgr.cgi script can be found in this directory with no access controls in place. This script can be used by a remote attacker to connect to arbitrary hosts and ports which could be used to "proxy" portscans through vulnerable systems.
Platforms Affected:
- Debian, Debian Linux 3.0
- RedHat, Enterprise Linux 2.1 AS
- RedHat, Enterprise Linux 2.1 ES
- RedHat, Enterprise Linux 3 AS
- RedHat, Enterprise Linux 3 WS
- RedHat, Enterprise Linux 3 ES
- RedHat, Enterprise Linux 3 Desktop
- RedHat, Enterprise Linux 4 Desktop

- RedHat, Enterprise Linux 4 WS
- RedHat, Enterprise Linux 4 ES
- RedHat, Linux 6.0
- RedHat, Linux Advanced Workstation 2.1 Itanium
