FreeBSD ee ispell_op temporary file symlink
| ee-ispell-op-symlink (24074) |
Description:
The ee text editing utility in FreeBSD could allow a local attacker to launch a symlink attack, caused by insecure temporary file creation by the ispell_op() function. A local attacker could exploit this vulnerability by creating a symbolic link from a temporary file to other files on the system, which would allow the attacker to create or overwrite arbitrary files on the system with the privileges of the user running the ee editor.
