PHP ext/session and header function HTTP response splitting
| php-session-response-splitting (24094) |
Description:
PHP is vulnerable to an HTTP response splitting attack, caused by improper validation of the session id that is returned in the Set-Cookie HTTP response header. If a remote attacker sends an HTTP GET containing a specially-crafted session id to a Web server that is configured to use PHP session extension, the attacker could inject arbitrary HTTP headers into the HTTP response body. An attacker could use this vulnerability to perform cross-site scripting attacks, session hijacking, Web cache poisoning, and other malicious activity.
