Description:

The Cisco IP Phones 7940 and 7960 are vulnerable to a denial of service attack. A remote attacker could flood any port on affected device with SYN packets to cause the device to reboot, resulting in a denial of service.

Remedy:

Upgrade to the latest firmware version (7.1(1) or later), as listed in the Cisco Security Notice dated 2006 January 13 2130 UTC (GMT). See References.
