BSD IEEE 802.11 beacon or probe response frame buffer overflow
| bsd-ieee80211-bo (24192) |
Description:
The BSD 802.11 protocol stack in FreeBSD is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow. By broadcasting a specially-crafted beacon or probe response frame, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer on an affected system and execute arbitrary code with root privileges.
Platforms Affected:
- FreeBSD, FreeBSD 6.0
Remedy:
Refer to FreeBSD Security Advisory FreeBSD-SA-06:05.80211 for patch or upgrade information. See References.
