K Desktop Environment (KDE) kjs buffer overflow

kde-kjs-bo (24242) The risk level is classified as HighHigh Risk

Description:

K Desktop Environment (KDE) is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking of UTF-8 encoded URI sequences by the JavaScript interpreter engine (kjs). By creating a Web page containing malicious JavaScript code, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on a victim's system, if the victim visits the malicious page with a Web browser that uses kjs.
