Multiple Mozilla products XULDocument.persist() attribute name command execution

mozilla-xuldocument-command-execution (24434) The risk level is classified as MediumMedium Risk

Description:

Multiple Mozilla products, including Firefox, Thunderbird and Mozilla Suite, could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the system, caused by an input validation vulnerability in the XULDocument.persist() function. The XULDocument.persist() function fails to properly validate the attribute name. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability using a specially-crafted Web page or HTML email containing malicious JavaScript to inject XML into the localstore.rdf file, which would allow the attacker to execute arbitrary JavaScript with the permissions of the Web browser process.
