Linux kernel compat_sys_clock_settime() date -S argument denial of service
| kernel-date-s-dos (24475) |
Description:
Linux kernel versions 2.6.15.1 and earlier when running on SPARC systems is vulnerable to a denial of service. A local attacker could execute a date -S command to cause the compat_sys_clock_settime() function to pass invalid arguments to the get_compat_timespec() function which would cause a system panic, resulting in a denial of service.
