LinPHA multiple scripts directory traversal local file include

linpha-index-file-include (24663) The risk level is classified as MediumMedium Risk

Description:

LinPHA could allow a remote attacker to include malicious PHP file. A remote attacker could send a specially-crafted URL request containing "dot dot" (../) sequences to the index.php, install.php, sec_stage_install.php, third_stage_install.php or forth_stage_install.php script using the 'lang' or 'language' parameter to specify a malicious PHP file from the local system, which would allow the attacker to execute arbitrary code on the vulnerable system.

Note: If magic_quotes_gpc is disabled, this vulnerability could also be used to execute arbitrary commands embedded in the limpha.log file if the "user login events log" is set to "file" or to include other local files by appending a NULL byte character (%00) to the URL request.

NOTE: direct static code injection is resultant from this issue, as demonstrated by inserting PHP code into the username, which is inserted into linpha.log, which is accessible from the directory traversal.
