Multiple Cisco Anomaly Detection and Mitigation products TACACS+ authentication bypass
| cisco-tacacs-auth-bypass (24689) |
Description:
Multiple Cisco Guard and Cisco Traffic Anomaly Detector appliances and modules running software versions 5.0(1) and 5.0(3) could allow a remote attacker to bypass authentication and gain unauthorized access or elevated privileges on affected devices. If Terminal Access Controller Access Control System Plus (TACACS+) is used for authentication, but a TACACS+ server is not specified, an attacker could bypass authentication and possibly gain complete control over the affected device.
Note: Privileges are limited based on the type of account the attacker uses to exploit this vulnerability. If the attacker uses a non-existent account, the attacker will be granted privileges to execute 'show' commands only.
