Microsoft Office routing slip metadata buffer overflow
| office-routing-slip-bo (25009) |
Description:
Microsoft Office could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by a buffer overflow in the routing slip metadata in Microsoft's document format. By creating a specially-crafted routing slip within a Microsoft Office document, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system, once the file is open. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by hosting the malicious document on a Web site and then persuading a potential victim to visit the site or sending the document to a potential victim as an email attachment.
