Description:

QmailAdmin is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking in qmailadmin.c. By setting an overly long PATH_INFO environment variable using a specially-crafted URL, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system.

Platforms Affected:

  • Gentoo, Linux
  • Inter7, QmailAdmin prior 1.2.10

Remedy:

Upgrade to the latest version of QmailAdmin (stable version 1.2.10 or later), available from the Inter7 Web site. See References.
