Microsoft Visual Studio and Visual InterDev .dbp and .sln DataProject buffer overflow
| visualstudio-dataproject-bo (25148) |
Description:
Microsoft Visual Studio and Microsoft Visual InterDev are vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking of the DataProject field in Visual Studio Database Project File (.dbp) and Visual Studio Solution (.sln) files. By creating a malicious .dbp or .sln file with an overly long DataProject field, an attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on a victim's system, if the attacker could persuade the victim to open and compile the malicious project file.
