Linux kernel get_nodes() denial of service
| linux-get-nodes-dos (25204) |
Description:
Linux kernel is vulnerable to a denial of service caused by a vulnerability in the get_nodes() function. If a local attacker calls the get_nodes() function with a maxnodes value between -2 and 0, the attacker could cause the system to crash.
Consequences:
Denial of Service
Remedy:
Apply the patch for this vulnerability, available from The Linux Kernel Archives. See References.
For Debian GNU/Linux:
Refer to DSA-1103-1 for patch, upgrade, or suggested workaround information. See References.
For SUSE Linux:
Refer to SUSE-SA:2006:028 for patch, upgrade, or suggested workaround information. See References.
For other distributions:
Contact your vendor for upgrade or patch information.
