Description:

WordPress is vulnerable to SQL injection. If comments are allowed but not monitored, a remote attacker could send specially-crafted SQL statements when posting a comment about an article that, when passed to the 'User-Agent' HTTP header parameter, could allow the attacker to add, modify, or delete information in the back-end database.

Platforms Affected:

  • Gentoo, Linux
  • WordPress, WordPress 1.5.2

Remedy:

For Gentoo Linux:
Refer to GLSA 200603-01 for patch, upgrade, or suggested workaround information. See References.

Contact your vendor for patch or upgrade information.
