Description:

BlackICE PC Protection, Server Protection, Agent for Server, and RealSecure Desktop could allow a local attacker to gain elevated privileges. If a user chooses the "More Info" button after an Application Protection warning is displayed, the attacker could use the help dialog to bypass authentication restrictions and execute or view any file on the system with SYSTEM level privileges.

Remedy:

RealSecure Desktop 3.6 and 7.0 customers are encouraged to upgrade to Proventia Desktop, which is a replacement product and free upgrade.

BlackICE Agent for Server customers are encouraged to upgrade to Proventia Server.

No other ISS products use the affected components.
