Description:

VERITAS NetBackup is vulnerable to a buffer overflow in the Volume Manager service (vmd.exe), caused by improper bounds checking by the sscanf() function. By sending a specially-crafted request to TCP port 13701, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on an affected system.
