Description:
Is the system page file cleared on system shutdown?
Platforms Affected:
- Microsoft, Windows 2000
- Microsoft, Windows NT 4.0
Remedy:
It is recommended that the Page File is cleared on System shutdown.
This can be achieved by using the Registry Editor to go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management key and set the "ClearPageFileAtShutdown" (type REG_DWORD) value to 1.
