Description:

ZDaemon is vulnerable to a denial of service attack, caused by memory access errors in the ZD_MissingPlayer, ZD_UseItem, ZD_LoadNewClient, and ZD_ValidClient functions. A remote attacker could connect to the game server using an invalid MAXPLAYERS or NUMARTIFACTS value to cause the server to crash.

Note: This vulnerability also affects X-Doom, which is a server only ZDaemon port.
