Description:

Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 908531 is not installed, which could allow a remote attacker to exploit the following vulnerabilities:

Microsoft Windows XP could allow a local attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by a vulnerability in Windows Explorer. When system folders are created by the desktop.ini file using the class id (CLSID), the CLSID may point to an executable file in the .ShellClassInfo section. A local attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on the system.

Microsoft Windows Explorer could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code and take complete control over a victim's system, caused by a vulnerability regarding the handling of folders that have the same GUID as a COM object. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by persuading a victim to visit a malicious Web site or open a malicious email attachment.
