Description:

MyBB (formerly MyBulletinBoard) is vulnerable to cross-site scripting, caused by improper validation of user-supplied input by the newthread.php script. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability using the username parameter to execute script in a victim's Web browser within the security context of the hosting Web site, allowing the attacker to steal the victim's cookie-based authentication credentials.

Note: In order for this vulnerability to be exploited, MyBB default settings must be changed to allow unregistered users to post new threads.
