Description:

xine-ui could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the system, caused by a format string vulnerability in the print_formatted() function. By creating a malicious playlist file containing format specifiers in the path to one of the files referenced within the playlist, a remote attacker could execute arbitrary commands on a victim's system, once the file is opened. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by hosting the malicious file on a Web site or sending it to a victim as an email attachment.
