Description:

Ethereal is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by an infinite loop condition in the UMA dissector. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability using a malformed packet or trace file to cause the UMA dissector to enter into an infinite loop, resulting in a denial of service.

Upgrade to the latest stable version of Ethereal (0.99.0 or later), as listed in Ethereal Security Advisory enpa-sa-00023. See References.
