Juniper Networks IVE client JuniperSetup.ocx buffer overflow

juniper-ive-activex-bo (26077) The risk level is classified as HighHigh Risk

Description:

The Juniper Networks Instant Virtual Extranet (IVE) client is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow in the JuniperSetup ActiveX control (JuniperSetup.ocx), caused by improper bounds checking of the ProductName parameter in JuniperSetupDLL.dll. By creating a malicious JuniperSetup.ocx that passes an overly long ProductName value to the affected function, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the victim's system. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by hosting the malicious ActiveX control on a Web site and persuading a victim running an affected version of the IVE client to visit the site.
