Description:
Phex is a file sharing application running on the Gnutella Network. Phex versions prior to 2.8.6 are vulnerable to a denial of service. A remote attacker could send multiple chat requests to a victim and log off causing Phex to consume a large amount of resources.

Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of Phex (2.8.6 or later), available from the Phex Web site. See References.
