Linux SCTP sctp_skb_pull() infinite recursion denial of service
| linux-sctp-skb-pull-dos (26432) |
Description:
Linux kernel SCTP (lksctp) could allow a remote attacker to cause a denial of service, caused by an infinite recursion error in the sctp_skb_pull() function. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability using a specially-crafted packet to cause the system to crash.

Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest stable version of the Linux kernel (2.6.16.16 or later), available from The Linux Kernel Archives. See References.
For Red Hat Linux:
Refer to RHSA-2006:0493-6 for patch, upgrade, or suggested workaround information. See References.
For Debian GNU/Linux:
Refer to DSA-1097-1 and DSA-1103-1 for patch, upgrade, or suggested workaround information. See References.
For SUSE Linux:
Refer to SUSE-SA:2006:028 for patch, upgrade, or suggested workaround information. See References.
For other distributions:
Apply the appropriate update for your system. See References.
Consequences:
Denial of Service
