Multiple vendor SSH Server key exchange buffer overflow
| freesshd-key-exchange-bo (26442) |
Description:
Multiple vendor's SSH server software, including freeSSHd and the wodSSHServer ActiveX Component, are vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking of key exchange algorithm strings. By sending a specially-crafted key from an SSH client, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and cause the system to crash or possibly execute arbitrary code on the affected system.
Consequences:
Gain Access
Remedy:
For freeSSHd:
Upgrade to the latest version (1.0.10 or later), available from the freeSSHd Web site. See References.
For wodSSHServer ActiveX Component:
Upgrade to the latest vesion (1.3.4 or later), available from the WeOnlyDo Software Web site. See References.
