GNU Binutils libbfd buffer overflow
| binutils-libbfd-bo (26644) |
Description:
GNU Binutils is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the libbfd library. By sending a specially-crafted file containing a malformed Tektronix Hex Format record, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the application utilizing the libbfd library to crash.
