Description:
Microsoft PowerPoint could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by a buffer overflow vulnerability in the handling of malformed records in a PowerPoint (.ppt) file. By creating a specially-crafted .ppt file and hosting it on a Web site or sending it to a potential victim as an email attachment, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system, once the file is opened.
