Mozilla Firefox PLUGINSPAGE code execution variant
| mozilla-pluginspage-code-execution (26847) |
Description:
Mozilla Firefox could allow a remote attacker to bypass security restrictions and execute arbitrary JavaScript on a victim's system, caused by a vulnerability regarding nested JavaScript URLs in a PLUGINSPAGE attribute. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by persuading a victim to visit a malicious Web page and then clicking on the "missing-plugin" icon on the page or the "Install Missing Plugins" infobar item and choosing the "Manual Install" button.
Note: This is a variation of the vulnerability originally described in Mozilla Foundation Security Advisory 2005-34.

- CVE-2006-2784: The PLUGINSPAGE functionality in Mozilla Firefox before 1.5.0.4 allows remote user-assisted attackers to execute privileged code by tricking a user into installing missing plugins and selecting the Manual Install button, then using nested javascript: URLs. NOTE: the manual install button is used for downloading software from a remote web site, so this issue would not cross privilege boundaries if the user progresses to the point of installing malicious software from the attacker-controlled site.
