Description:

dhcdbd is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by a memory corruption error that could occur when receiving an invalid DHCP response. A remote attacker in control of a malicious DHCP server could exploit this vulnerability to cause the daemon to crash by sending a specially-crafted DHCP response containing a "hex string" option with a single byte value that is not NVT-ASCII, but would be interpreted as an ASCII value.
