MyBB index.php SQL injection
| mybb-index-sql-injection (27445) |
Description:
MyBB is vulnerable to SQL injection when in Archive mode, caused by an error related to the KILL_GLOBALS constant not being properly defined. If register_globals is enabled, a remote attacker could send specially-crafted SQL statements to the /archive/index.php script using user-defined variables, which could allow the attacker to view, add, modify, or delete information in the back-end database.
Consequences:
Data Manipulation
Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of MyBB (1.1.5 or later), available from the MyBB Web site. See References.

- CVE-2006-3758: inc/init.php in Archive Mode (Light) in MyBB (aka MyBulletinBoard) 1.1.4 calls the extract function with EXTR_OVERWRITE on HTTP POST and GET variables, which allows remote attackers to overwrite arbitrary variables, as demonstrated via an SQL injection using the _SERVER[HTTP_CLIENT_IP] parameter in archive/index.php.
