jetAudio tooltip ID Tag buffer overflow
| jetaudio-tooltip-idtag-bo (27593) |
Description:
jetAudio is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the 'tooltip' display string when the sound card driver is incorrectly installed or is not active. By persuading a user to open a malicious WMA file containing an overly long ID Tag value, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the victim's system. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by hosting the malicious file on a Web site or sending it to a victim as an email attachment.
