Microsoft Excel cell rebuilding code execution
| excel-cell-rebuilding-code-execution (27604) |
Description:
Microsoft Excel could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system. By creating a specially-crafted Excel file containing malformed cell comments, a remote attacker could cause memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the system with privileges of the user, once the file is opened and Excel attempts to rebuild the malformed cells. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending the malicious file to a victim as an email attachment or hosting it on a Web site.
