Microsoft Office string parsing buffer overflow
| office-string-parse-bo (27607) |
Description:
Microsoft Office is vulnerable to a buffer overflow. By creating a malicious Office file containing a specially-crafted string, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with privileges of the user, once the Office file is opened and the string is parsed using an affected Office application. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending the malicious file to a victim as an email attachment or hosting it on a Web site.
