libtunepimp LookupTRM::lookup() buffer overflow

libtunepimp-lookuptrmlookup-bo (27728) The risk level is classified as HighHigh Risk

Description:

libtunepimp is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper handling of overly long release dates by the LookupTRM::lookup() function. By sending a specially-crafted .mp3 file containing a long release date, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the application to crash, if the attacker could convince the victim to open the malicious .mp3 file.
