Microsoft Internet Explorer WebViewFolderIcon ActiveX object code execution
| ie-webviewfoldericon-code-execution (27804) |
Description:
Microsoft Internet Explorer could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by an integer underflow vulnerability in the Microsoft Windows Shell that can be exploited when processing a malformed WebViewFolderIcon ActiveX object with an invalid argument to the "setSlice" method. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on the victim's system or cause the victim's browser to crash, if the attacker could persuade the victim to visit a malicious Web page.
