GNU GCC fastjar .jar directory traversal

gnugcc-fastjar-directory-traversal (27806) The risk level is classified as MediumMedium Risk

Description:

The GNU GCC fastjar utility could allow a remote attacker to traverse directories on the system. Archived files compressed with fastjar are not validated when extracted. A remote attacker could create a malicious .jar archive with specially-crafted path names containing "dot dot" sequences (/../) which, once extracted, could allow the attacker to traverse directories and overwrite or create arbitrary files on the system.
