AlsaPlayer GTK playlist buffer overflow

Description:
AlsaPlayer is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking when adding new items to a playlist. By persuading a victim to add a file with an overly long filename to a playlist using the GTK interface, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and possibly execute arbitrary code on the system.
Platforms Affected:
- AlsaPlayer, AlsaPlayer 0.99.76 and prior
Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of AlsaPlayer (0.99.77 or later), available from the AlsaPlayer Web site. See References.
