ASPPlayground.NET calendar.asp cross-site scripting
| aspplaygroundnet-calendar-xss (28352) |
Description:
ASPPlayground.NET Advanced Edition is vulnerable to cross-site scripting, caused by improper validation of user-supplied input by the calendar.asp script. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability using the calendarID parameter in a specially-crafted URL to execute script in a victim's Web browser within the security context of the hosting Web site, once the URL is clicked. An attacker could use this vulnerability to steal the victim's cookie-based authentication credentials.
Per private conversation with the vendor, ASPPlayground.NET Advanced Edition throws an exception when an invalid calendarID was received, greatly reducing the risk of the cross-site scripting vulnerability.
