SmartLine DeviceLock NTFS ACL bypass
| devicelock-acl-security-bypass (28384) |
Description:
SmartLine DeviceLock could allow a local attacker to bypass NTFS ACL security restrictions, caused by a design error in the implementation of DeviceLine ACLs. If the DeviceLock ACL on a partition consists of only Allow entries, the \Device\HarddiskX\PartitionY kernel object is set to Everyone: FullAccess. This could allow a local attacker to gain unauthorized read and write access to all the files on the affected partition.
Note: If the ACL on a partition consists of only Deny entries, the kernel object is set to Everyone: DenyFullAccess, denying all access to every user including the administrator and system account.
