IBM eGatherer ActiveX control RunEgatherer() buffer overflow
| egatherer-activex-runegatherer-bo (28418) |
Description:
The IBM eGatherer ActiveX control is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the RunEgatherer() function. By passing an overly long eGatherer log output parameter to the affected function, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system, if the attacker could persuade a potential victim to visit a malicious Web page.
