| ie-long-url-bo (28522) |
Description:
Microsoft Internet Explorer is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking of an overly long URL when viewing a Web site using HTTP 1.1 compression. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause the victim's browser to crash or execute arbitrary code on the victim's system, if the attacker could persuade the victim to visit a malicious Web page.
Note: This vulnerability was introduced with the release of the MS06-042 update for Internet Explorer on August 8, 2006.
